Richard’s educational foundation reflects a commitment to excellence and systems level thinking. He earned his Bachelor of Science from Simon Fraser University in Canada, followed by three graduate degrees from the University of Southern California: a Master of Social Work, a Master of Public Administration, and a Master of Public Health. He later completed USC’s Master of Management in Library and Information Science program, where he received the Ken Haycock Award for Leadership and the Lucille M. Wert Scholarship for academic achievement and leadership impact.
With a strong understanding of healthcare systems, Richard pursued clinical training and completed his dental hygiene education at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He has practiced for more than seven years as a Registered Dental Hygienist, delivering preventive and periodontal care to diverse patient populations throughout Texas. His clinical experience includes work with Made Ya Smile Dental in Missouri City and currently with Fort Bend Dental Associates, a multi location dental group known for its emphasis on technology, prevention, and patient centered care.
